Making the Most of Your Visit
A client visit is most productive when it is built around real material rather than general discussion. Whether you are onboarding a new trading partner, troubleshooting rejected transactions or planning a label redesign, a little preparation lets the session move straight to specifics.
What to bring
- Sample labels and packaging. Physical cartons, shipping labels and item tags show print quality, quiet zones and placement issues that are hard to judge from a screenshot. If a retailer has flagged compliance problems, bring the affected labels along with any chargeback notices.
- Trading partner requirements. Retailer or distributor implementation guides, label specifications and EDI mapping documents help everyone work from the same rules.
- Recent transaction examples. Copies of purchase orders, advance ship notices, invoices and functional acknowledgements, with sensitive details removed where needed, make it easier to trace where data goes wrong.
- A list of systems involved. Note your ERP or warehouse software, label printers and scanners, and any translation or VAN arrangements you currently use.
Agreeing an agenda in advance
Sending a short summary of your goals before you arrive lets the right questions be prepared ahead of time. Useful items to include are the trading partners affected, any go-live or compliance deadlines you are working towards, and which service levels matter most to your team, such as response times for failed documents. You can review how service commitments are tracked on the Standings page and browse the available services on Solutions.
Getting around Cleveland
If you are travelling from outside the area, allow extra time during weekday rush hours and in winter, when lake-effect snow can slow roads around Northeast Ohio. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport serves the city, and the regional transit network offers rail and bus links into downtown. Confirm your exact meeting time and directions with the team before setting off.
After the meeting
Most visits end with a list of actions: mapping changes, label template updates or testing with a trading partner. Keeping a single point of contact on your side makes follow-up quicker. For questions that come up afterwards, the Support page is the best place to start.
