The places listed above fall into a few natural clusters, which makes it easier to plan a visit around a meeting or a site walk-through. Downtown and the lakefront hold several of them within walking distance of one another: Terminal Tower anchors Public Square, Progressive Field sits a short walk south-east in the Gateway area, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Great Lakes Science Center stand side by side on the North Coast Harbor along Lake Erie. If you have a free afternoon downtown, pairing the two lakefront attractions is a simple option, since you can move between them without needing a car.

Playhouse Square lies east of Public Square along Euclid Avenue and is known as one of the largest performing arts districts in the country, with several restored historic theaters. Further east, University Circle is home to the Cleveland Museum of Art, which is surrounded by other cultural institutions and green space around Wade Park. Cleveland Clinic's main campus is also on Euclid Avenue, between downtown and University Circle.

West Side Market is across the Cuyahoga River in Ohio City. It is a long-running public market with a large indoor hall of food vendors, and it tends to be busiest on weekends, so a weekday visit is often calmer.
